G'day all, as some may know I have owned a tb42 GQ wagon for over 7years but it has gone to 4wd heaven due to a roll over, now I have gone and bought a 92 TD42 GQ wagon and was wondering what additives you guys are runnin to keep them in good order? My old man swore by additives thoughout all his diesel equiptment (earthmoving bussiness) so assume the old girl may benefit also, such as Moreys fuel additive. as for oil
Whats out there as I'm new to diesels and want to look after her the best i can!
Cheers Mick

lovely I'll be running two k&n filters to help that issue (if i can get a k&n to fit the prefilter), seems odd as my old man ran I think Moreys all the time and notice improvement's in fuel usage and power gain long term in his dozers?????Yom wrote:I'd do what truckster said. Once that tank is done replace the fuel filter.
I was reading the other day that many of these additives can actually break down the bonding agents in the filter media used in many fuel filters causing them to break up and cause problems.
So your sayin every 800ks change filter ouch $$$$$$$
Cheers Mick
When ever I buy a new (second hand) car i dump all fluids as ya just dont know the history so all filters will be changed also, this includes diffs gearboxes etc etc that way I have a clean start to my history
