coils or leaves

Post by mav42 »

hey going to be selling my gq shorty to get a sierra (more economical than 4.2 l 6 cyl) not sure what to look for i know the leaf spring sierra doesn t take much to get working well off road but are the coil srung ones really that bad off road (flex) the car will be getting driven 90 percent of the time on road

the coilys have a softer ride then the leaffys but r a bit harder to get mods for and some bits may have to be custom made

leafys ride can be quite harsh if the suspension is stiff but they r both good little cars

i like the leafys as its the only sierra ive owned lol so i guess im a bit bias
but they can both be tured in to really good and that capable weekend warrior

the vitara is also an option to and can be as cheap or even cheaper then a coily

a lot more comfort with the coil rear only down fall i think is the ifs front
but can be just as and some times even more capable but with better comfort

all cars have there down falls

hope this help cheers buzzy

Flex isnt everything mate, a lot of it is for wank factor.
If the vehicle is spending that much time onroad, i would definately buy a Vitara over a Sierra.
Vitaras can still go suprising places too with a rear locker.

as stated above - if its 90% on road and you dont want tyres bigger than 30" - go the jimny.
