Simple Wiring Diagram Question....Yes or No will do

Post by captahab18 »

Will the wiring diagram of a 78 FJ40 be suffcient to use to help identify wires and what not on an 81 3b Fj40?

Or will there be lots of differences in blinker wires and such?

Thats mainly what its for. This old man I know is having problems with his wires and doesnt have a clue where to start to help identify them.

The 78 wiring diagram is the most recent one I could find on the net.

Thanks

Am I right in thinking that a 78 FJ40 would be petrol 2F while 81 3B FJ40 would prolly be a 3B diesel and a BJ40?? Therefore i think all the motor wiring would be different but indicators and the like may be similiar.

Alright thanks guys.

Its really for him to sort out his blinker problems. So I guess as long as the wire colors didnt change the 78 diagram might be of some use then.

Thanks for your input

the blinker setup is the same i think, but good luck to him following the wires, its not as simple as youd think it should be. The hazard switch can cause problems. I just re-wired my blinkers from scratch, it saved me lots of time just cutting the old wires out.

I did it MY way.
