yep thats the one , it happens to mine from time to time, if that fails turn it on off on off on off lol, or you could pull the fan box out and clean it, might be full of junk

If you can find the power plug to the fan and determine which wires make the fan go (pos and Neg) then hotwire it to the battery, if the fan goes you have a problem elsewhere, if it doean't go (and you have hotwired it right) then the fan itself is stuffed.

Its common in Hilux's. Under the glovebox near the fan you should see a plug with 3 or 4 wires plugging into the bottom of the fan box. The peace it plugs into has one screw. undo it and see if the coil resistors are burnt out. These are the resistors for the speed control on the fan. They commonly burn out with old age. Some have coils others have a ceramic resistor. I have not seen the ceremic ones fail. But the wire coil ones do often. Best to buy a new one from toyota as good ones are hard to find in wreckers.

if it was the resistor the fan should still work on hi i think because hi dosent run through a resistor ( because it has to give the fan lots of volts so it can spin fast )

ha ha many years ago i bought a workshop manual. it said in one part and i quote
"next check the resistance of the resistors resistance" I made the mistake of reading it out word for word.... after too much burbon... My mates laughed their colective asses off and never let me forget it ... just a note never read out instructions word for word!!! lmao
