hi all, i have a 95 sierra and i upgraded the alternator a couple of years ago to the ford 110A version.
my question is, atm im not happy with the the single 'V' belt arrangment. I find if i run the battery down when the alt is working hard it sometimes get a bit of belt slip, then belt slip burns the belt making it looser creating more belt slip.
So is there an easy upgrade to a multi V or the like? any ideas would be muchly appreciated

You may be able to put a carby vitara crank and water pump pully on it to convert it to a 4pk style belt.
The 95 sierra runs a 5 bolt crank pully with a round tooth timming belt.
Its the same pully if im not mistaken at the carby vitara. Worth looking into if your that concerned.

I was looking at this yesterday. It looks like a G13 and G16A crank pulley will swap over, allowing the 5 bolt 4PK pulley from a vitara to fit a sierra.
However, I recall at one stage Christover ran a barina/swift 1.3 in his sierra and it had 4PK pullies, so maybe there are some 4 bolt 4PK crank pullies out there?

barina/swift 3pk crank pulley
Vitara water pump pulley 4pk
standard pulley on falcon alternator 6pk
I used an 815pk3 belt, but have an 840pk3 as a spare which will fit, but at the very end of the tension limit.

when i rebuilt my motor i used a swift waterpump pulley and a swift crank pulley and its all sweet. This is best used if running a thermo fan set up as it gives more space between the water pump and rad. I found a clutch fan lying about at a mates place and adapted that. and it all works perfectly when belt is tight.
On a side note the Falcon alt will require some extra wiring to get the signal wire voltage correct. if signal voltage is not correct the alt can over charge battery voltage and kill batteries and electronic equipment.
