Jabber in 4WD Monthly

Post by Hekta »

Anyone got the new issue of 4WD Monthly ? There's a lifted 3.5Ltr LWB with 33's etc, looks pretty cool. He's from Bundaberg 4WD club. Got judged best tourer and most outstanding wagon at the 4x4 Expo @ LCMP.

I met the owner at QAFWDC Corroboree on the weekend - great looking vehicle. Like all 4bys it's a work in progress, and it should only get better.

He contacted the magazine in August last year about being featured, and Pat called him back within a few days. Then he spent months waiting for Roothy to come to Bundaberg to do the story, and in the end his mate rang Pat and said "let me do it." They took over 100 photos, and had trouble getting it to lift a wheel for the photo shoot - but got there in the end.

Grant, why don't you give Pat a call too?

Scott,

Not into the whole magazine thing. Those who know me (and of me) will know the vehicle and thats enough for me. If it was blown and sased, I might think about it.

Does anyone know where to get the spring spacers for the Paj like this guy says he has??

I see that auto alliance do them for a lot of other 4bys, or do we assume they are custom??

Yeah, normal subscription or through a mates GF that works there.
I was stoked this month, there's a nice Paj and a full rooftop tent comparison in there!

Have been there done that working for yaself bit, this has disadvantages, but also a few advantages. Plus shift work is pretty cool sometimes! ;)

Mightn't get paid as much as when i was working for myself, but at least i know that there'll be something in the bank at the end of the week now without having to chase it!! (my personal hate)

Yeah it is pretty tidy! I'd like to know how the vernier cam gears brought the torque curve back a HUGE 1500rpm! I would believe a few hundred rpm, but not that much, the top end sarcifice just isnt worth it!
