High flow Thermostat in a GU TD42 NA that is fitted with MTQ after market turbo kit.
I have Water temperature issues when towing Camper trailer up Cunning Hams Gap probarbly the last 4 or four bends from the top.

I have heard people pass comment on whether I am running high Flow thermostat to which I assume Not. But Wanted to know if this would help with the high water temperature issue.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

i tried this with my gq turbo diesel and i found the water was not getting enough time in the radiator to cool down because the thermostat was opening too early, was great when idleing or just cruising but when i was up it the temp would rise a bit too much for my liking, it would fluctuate too much,...dunno if that makes sense

Try drilling a 1/8' hole in the thermostat "disc". This will pass a little more water all the time- but ultimately either the exhaust is too restrictive or underhood air temps. too high.

Haven't got the fuel wound up too far?

i have found that the only thermostat that works is the genuine one , maybe some viscous fluid in the fan hub will do it , providing the fuel mix is good
