King of the Rim (Competition) 16&17 July

Post by harrisbm »

King of the Rim is held a Scenic Rim Adventure Park
The Competiton is a 3 lap fast track race. Fastest Lap Wins. Estimated Lap Time 1 hour Tracks consist of 10-15km laps with some of the toughest hill climbs and rocks and technical speed section ever.
The Speed track will be around 30-45mins with a combined reverse grid lap.

The King of the Rim is a fast endurance “fastest lap wins” competition. This will test the driver’s skill like no other 4WD race has done before in Australia.

The series will consist of 2 rounds that will be run in July and November. The first round will be a qualifying round. From Round 1, the top 5 cars in each category will go into an A Class series final which will include a special night stage for the A class and the remaining competitors will go into the B Class series final. The final will be held in November.

The laps will consist of rock, speed sections, steep hills and the creek that is being referred to as the hardest creek run in Australia.

This is a unique event for the 4wding competitions in Australia. The details that make this event unique are:-
1. The maximum number of cars on the tracks will be 24 cars at one time instead of 1 car. Speed track will have only 1 car on track.
2. There will be no hold ups for breakdowns.
3. Drivers will be driving for at least 3 hours during the event.
4. There will be shuttles to assist spectators get around the track to the spectator points.
5. This event will have a variety of competition style cars competing at the same event that has never been done in this format before. The cars will be:-
• Winch Challenge type cars
• Extreme Modified All Terrain type cars
• Truggy rock crawlers
• Buggy’s
• Class 8 speed cars
Cars don't have to be registered. There will be scrutineering prior to the event. Scrutineering locations will only be given to those who register and have paid at least a deposit.

The local SES guys will be at the King of the Rim to assist Brenden and his team.

The SES will be running a canteen during Saturday at this event and we hope this will be a major fundraiser for their local service centre.

If you are planning to come out as a spectator for the day forget the esky and packed lunch just bring your cash for lunch and support this very worthwhile local organisation.

Hey guys

Just so I can confirm
With the dates being the 16 & 17 is this a Friday & Saturday event?
Or do you actually mean the 17 & 18 July?

The crew here at Offroad Cartel have confirmed their spot as a Exhibitor and will be making the Trek down to Scenic Rim with the latest and greatest that we have on offer, including our brand spanking new hoodie design and our latest assortment of colours in the Domination Trucker!

It'll be great to meet and greet everyone and get to see some of this wild offroading country that you lucky SEQ wheelers have in your backyard!

I can't wait!!!

Howdy, just wondering, with the winch class vehicles being involved, does that mean there will be many winch walls? or is it more because they will be suited to the high speed track for flat out driving with no winching?

Friday night and saturday comp with Sunday a fun day.

The winch and extreme is more due to speed. There are a few bonus walls to drive but I don't expect to many winching in this class.

Will be heading down to watch this comp sounds like it will be pretty bloody awesome!! An pootrollin is towing my cruiser down it's just a pitty that I don't have a roll cage yet if not I'd be keen to give the winch class a go!! Oh well will be fun to go for a drive on Sunday and check the park out!

And a word of advice, everyone take some extra cash out because when you see some of the clothing the Offroad Cartel lads have for sale you will be wanting to buy one of everything!!

I suppose there isn't really a great deal of females clothing on offer yet....... But maybe if you wait a little longer they will bring out a nice little hot pink cartel mini skirt and matching tee for you to purchase???

As expected we have had a few cars suffer from what we all do best. (Driving Hard) There is also a number of cars that have just registered filling their spots. The extreme modified cars are starting to fill up and to clarify confusion this is not a winch competition. If you have a car that competes in Tough Tracks with a cage this class is suitable for you.

Thanks guys.
It's all good, some people love it, some people are haters...
But one thing that is true is that the crew at Cartel are bonafide offroad addicts and have a real passion for putting back into the offroad lifestyle!
We're only small at the moment but we are making inroads into a motocross dominated industry and we're having a ball meeting all you guys along the way!

Can't wait to see you down at King of the Rim!
Make sure you come past and say hi at the stall!
We'll have DVD's playing and plenty of gear on sale for anyone that's living the dirt lifestyle!

We've loaded the merchandise trailer up already and are ready to hit the road early Friday morning! Keen!!! We sure are.... I know that there is going to be some of the tuffest rigs in Aus at this event!!!

I agree.

Hey Brendan can you give us a current competitor list here please?
With vehicles too so we can check out the range of rigs?
Has the event struck a chord with one type of wheeler more than another? Eg. Tuff Truck style rigs or winch rigs?

Did you get many interstate competitiors?
NSW? Further?

I'm really keen for this event!
There's a few of us making the 1600km trek around to check out this event!
Whoo whoo another 16hours in a car! That's what I'm really looking forward too
