Post by Paulieeee »

Hey guys,
just wondering if anyone ha 35x10.5x16 simex pedes fitted to a early solid axle lux, I currently have a 2" lift, I know I'll need a body lift but is it easily done? And will I need to do anything major?? Cheers

shift the front diff forward 2.5", that should do it, and thats all you should need. No body lift required really, some guard cutting and moving the diff forward. You can do a RUF (rears up front) by putting std rear leafs in the front with dropped front mounts and 2" extended shackles, and this is the best way to do it.
You can also do it by redrilling your spring perches for your spring centre pin. This is by FAR the cheaper method, as the RUF requires cross over steer etc.

I just chucked some 35/12.5/15's on my 85 hilux on the weekend for the first time.

It only has 2inch body lift and i was expecting to have to cut back the guards a fair bit. But so far i havent had to do any cutting at all. Mind you i dont think i managed to get the suspension flexing to its full extents (which isnt much at all with no suspension lift).

The only problem i had was i couldnt turn full lock as the tyres would hit the leaf springs. I think the rims i have are 0 offset so some -20 or so landcruiser rims might solve that.
