Gen 1 LWB Factory Air Locker into a Gen 1 SWB

Gen 1 LWB Factory Air Locker into a Gen 1 SWB
I managed to source a Gen 1 Rear Diff with the Factory Air Locker. I was under the impression that I could just replace the rear diff of my Gen 1 SWB as both vehicles are Diesel, but found out that wasn't the case. The LWB Diff is a little bigger and would not fit. Has anybody replaced the rear coil sprung axle of a LWB into a Shorty. I have the 89 TDI Japanese Import
I don't think so a MK1/Gen 1 Pajero had Air-Locker as a factory fitted item....only Gen 2 had it,but you can swap it to the Gen 1 rear axle if the pumpkin diameter are the same "not sure if Gen 1 is equip with 8.5" or 9" rear axle"
Just a suggestion, why don't you consider to put a Factory LSD into your Paj as it was available as a factory item on some high spec Paj.....this LSD performed quite good,it can even beat the Nissan LSD which is known tightest LSD around at that time......i have one on my MK1/Gen1,on the road i sometime feel the LSD was a little bit too tight.....if not enough u can add a couple of shim too ,this is a cheaper option to consider
