Post by GUEEY »

Hi.

i have a GQ Patrol and a 105 Hungy.
I am about to buy a set of bias tyres that i will mainly run on the GQ but it would be nice to use them occasionally on my 105 Tojo.
it there a Adaptor or wheel spacer available to achive this ???

Toyota 5-6 stud

Post by TRISHR »

I have a 100 rear end in my 80 converted to 6 stud so i could use the 100 hubs with bigger axle studs and 32 spline axles . On the front you could use 80 hubs modified to take 100 disc rotor,100 axle studs and drive plates ( front hasn't been tested but i believe it would work ) but this is a permanent change to 6 stud. A wheel spacer to go from 5 to 6 stud is impossible . I know this from converting the 100 hubs to 6 stud 2 stud holes overlap and needed to be filled/plugged then the 6 stud holes drilled. The other thing to concider is the hubs are bigger on a 100 and not all 6 stud wheels have a centre hole in the rim that will fit over the 100 hub.

Guys, tried the 80 front hub to 100 diff, and there are some issues that need to be overcome...80 has threead in disc, 100 is in the hub. so 100 disc needs bolts to hold to 80 hub and thread in 80 hub.....very messy,
Would be easier to convert the 100 to 6 stud using 80 axles/hubs and therefore run the smaller studs upgraded if need be. The rear lsd needs 80 side gears.
Confucious say...man who argue with idiot, worserer himself
