replaced a voltage regulator in a hj60 deisel. at idle it is making 14volts and by the time it gets to 2000rpm it is making 16volts. any chance the voltage regulator i was supplied is 24v ?

is it the external type? If so, I believe they can be adjusted/bent to raise or lower voltage......
