New tow car - TB48 patrol Vs 2UZ cruiser

Hi guys,
It is so hard trying to find any info on the net. I currently have a neat GQ patrol, but unfortunately the tow capacity is only 2500kg. I would keep this car with a turbo if it could be re-rated to tow 3500kg.... but i don't believe it can - and it looks like the new boat will top the 2500kg pretty easy.
So i am considering options. i had tossed up getting an old f350 or chevy etc to tow with and keep the gq. but it is another car and rego (have 3 cars and a bike already....)
So am considering upgrading the old girl. The TB45 patrol falls in not too much dearer than the GQ, but i think may be under powered for the weight, requiring mods to haul it.
The TB48 patrol and the V8 landcruiser/LX470 seem to be the natural competitors. I have a nissan, and also toyotas, so have no real brand loyalty.
I dont do serious off road - the odd play here and there, a bit of beach work.
So how do the power and torque curves compare? the cars over all?
Anyone that has used both - our opinion would be greatly appreciated. I will be chasing an auto as well.
Thanks
Stew
