High Preasure Fule tank?

Post by SASS »

Evening all,
Im after some info if anyone can help. About to buy a vp berlina and transfer the motor and gearbox to my 89 petrol dual cab hilux. Looking at using the marks kit but my question is instead of using the surge tank they sell could i just buy a long range tank (as i want to get one anyway) for a RV6 and use the toyota high preasure pump straight from the tank? i dont like the idea of an external surge tank? any info or alternative ideas would be great!

I have a 22re- Fuel injected in my lux at the moment. Tony ran it before me with the standard lux tank & no surge tank. When i bought it i also bought a tank out of a GQ Nissan ( i think there about 90 L ) They have a internal ( Swirl Pot ) where the pick-up is. It runs a VL Commo Pump, I do not have a surge tank & never had a problem in the last year with this setup sitting on big angles.
I had to mount the tank where the spare tyre is just behind the diff, you need to remove the tyre crossmember though. I can post some pics if you need.

Cant see why your idea of the rv6 tank would not work, My mate Shorty MQ runs Cross-flow Falcon with a commo pump with no surge tank out of his standard diesel tank ( no problems ) :D

I have the VN commo engine. I think the mechanic used a saab pump with a built in surge pot and the whole lot is insice the tank. As I said, I THINK, he did the work, not me.
