80 wider fibreglass flares???
Were can I find some good wider flares for my 80 series. I like the biggest size in the bushrangers but they dont make them for an 80 series. Im running neg 44's and they stick out of the old flares by about 40mm.
cheers

Ring FRP in Qld. 07 3883 1301. You will find the flares on the website (product list) www.frp.com.au. Mick
They also do a 125mm wide flare which would be what you want.
Now do you want to sell me your stock flares?

i rekon they would sit level with them... i think a normal big offest 16x10 is about 90mm backspace, so they would sit 30mm in further than mine..mick80 wrote:i got 16x10s as well cranky and my tires hang out probably at least 50mm with 315/75 tires on them do u think it will suit

nah mate im not, my tyres only touched at the rear of the guards, so i cut that out, and the new arms pushed the diff far enough forwards so that it didnt hit there anymore..Clarkie86 wrote:Hey Ray are you running bump stop spacers tp stop the flares getting crunched? as i have a set of factory 125mm ones and they were getting hit when i had no spacers.

Re: 80 wider fibreglass flares???

im looking for GLX flare for the rear R quarter, l posted a wanted, and bugga, no replies. l checked out Bushwacker in the US, looks like they dont make them for Aussie 80 series. lm now considering replacing all of them, but with which after maket product?
l also checked out the seller on ebay $400 a set, and they say you cant use the original mud flaps with them, yet his photo looks like they are the original flaps...im getta confuessed.
Has anyone got some advice for me....l have read all the previous posts.

and are quite a pain in the arse to get them to fit properly.
my bro in law bought his from frp alot better quality but a couple of hundred more
at the end of the day its personal preferance,
i bought the battery tray for my second battery from frp & they know there stuff
so if i had to buy flares again i'd buy from them no doubt .

Re: 80 wider fibreglass flares???
After my original question and post I have been absolutely flooded with messages from people wanting genuine toyota flares. I realise they are the first thing to go when 4x4 but thats just nuts. Why doesnt anyone just make exact copies of the geniunes if there is that much of a market for them?
Re: 80 wider fibreglass flares???
FRP do make an almost exact copy of the factory flare. Trouble is the not quite exactly bit is the mounting. They do not use the factory mountings so they have to be screwed or riveted into the guard lips like the poverty pack ugrade ones and the big ones like Rays.TheBigBoy wrote:After my original question and post I have been absolutely flooded with messages from people wanting genuine toyota flares. Generally out in the market you have basic flares to suit poverty pasck models which are styled on the width of the early narrower flare and these taper intot he body to suit the non flared factory mudflaps. Then FRP do a factory copy based on the later factory flare and using the later factory mudflap but no inbuilt mounts (unless they have chenged recently). Then you have the big arse flares like Rays which are 50mm from memory wider than the later factory flare but are moulded to use the later factory flare but again no moountings.

they sure will.. as they bolt on from under the guard. I used pop rivets with the REAL big heads to hold mine on.
can get a pic if need be..
I imagine the normal size FRP flares would be the same set up?
