Inboarded bumpstops?

I have done a search and haven't found a definite answer to my question

I'm still in the process of doing my suspension I run a full ruf and due to moving the diff so far forward my shocks and bumpstops didn't line up. I have cut the shock mounts and bumpstop mounts off I am making custom shock mounts
I was thinking about mounting the bumpstops from outside the chassis to underneath the chassis with a 40 mm extension

will this work and will I have any problems with this setup?

There isnt really any problem moving the bumpstops underneath the chassis, but it does create a teeny bit more leverage on the knuckles if you land really hard all the time. Shouldnt matter though.

It's the way I do all my front ends. I think I've done 5 or 6 cars this way. It works a treat. You'll pick up plenty of articulation due to the added leverage.
The added risk of bending the axle is a fair point. We haven't experienced this as a problem, but we don't tend to jump our junk. If you hit dunes a lot it might be a concern - that's where most of the front axle bendage seems to occur.
