Hey guys just wondering what could be the acuse of the oil leaking here. It leaking on each side, but faster on the drivers side.

I would find it hard to imagine both seals have given up the ghost at the same time. So im puzzled, thanks in advance Adam.

probably blocked breather tube.
it is the small rubber hose on top of the axle.
When driving the axle and oil heat up and expand and can build up pressure which is vented by the breather tube.

Maybe you need to replace knuckle seals

Will be the axle seals that will need to be replace.

Yeah but they would go at exactly the same time though, if they did that would be amazing

they don't always go at the same time, ususally the passengers side goes more often cause its the long side axle and puts more stress on the seal

Check your steering stopper bolt. Can sometimes get squashed in when hitting full lock too hard. This means the knuckle turns too far and pinches ur axle seal.

x2 had that on mine fixed it twice before I investigated. Wouldn't explain both seals goin tho.

Does it do it when in 2wd? Cos your diff and diff oil won't heat up if the diff aint spinnin. If you've taken shims out of the swivel bearings to fix wobbles etc make sure you take the same top and bottom, otherwise the axle will not sit centre allowing the inner axle seal to leak.

In this photo, you can see it sticking out further than the others just above the steering ball joint. It has a lock nut on it to tighten it down and lock it off.

anyone know where they need to be set at? i wound mine in to get a bit more lock?

also if you have diff oil leaking from anywhere on your knuckles/hubs it has to be going past the inner axle seal. so that'll be stuffed and possibly a coupld others

If you wind it in too far the CV cup will pinch the inner axle seal at full lock. I'd suggest 10-12 mm of thread showing between the head and the nut should be sufficient.

Yeah its doing it in 2wd, ill lock that nut off and clean the breather hose and see if that makes any difference,

Thanks for the advise guys
