60 series drums help asap

Hey people I am trying to get my drum off the rear of my 60 I got one side off using usual techneque hitting with hammer and adjusting handbrake off and putting bolts in to wind it out but the other side ain't budging been at it for ages and other ideas?

Keep at it? Have you tried prying the drum off against the backing plate while hamming it? Sounds like it's rusted up good, or something is badly broken.

Did you remove the little screw that holds the drum to the hub?

the adjuster only goes one way -tighten because of the handbrake auto adjusting lever. You have to push the adjusting lever away with a second screw driver to loosen the adjuster

did you slacken off the star wheel in the right direction? Also I think there is a self tightening mechanism on the handbrake so adjusting on and off won't help.

If not just get behind the drum and find the little curved slotted hole on the bottom side of the backplate, using a screwdriver push the little star wheel around in one directions till it slackens off, probably about 2-3 entire turns i guess. If you get wrong direction the brake will push hard on, so you know you have to go the other way.

Well after working on a mates car got back onto it adjusted it back a bit more then pryed it off was stuck on good took me and my mate a bit but we got it
now I'll finish it tomorrow As we strarted drinking when we attacked it so didn't go further with it

Check your wheel studs as well good time to do them and take two minutes and you won't have to do them for another 20 years.

haha funny you say that mate thats what i was taking it off for so changed them and was bout to put new studs in and realised the gave me the wrong ones so out the come old ones in left car in driveway get some new ones tomorrow
