Auto for the Lux ?'s

Post by muddylux »

Well i'm tossing up a few ideas and one is to put an auto in the Hilux so the Mrs can drive it. She can drive a manual ... but offroad she stalls often, ... could be the heavy clutch.

What auto will bolt straight into my ln106 Lux ?

maybe have a look at the surf autos?
have seen em behind 4ye motors and 2LT motors so should go in to the lux but not sure if they are computer controlled or not.
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

Yea, computer controled.

Will be a far bit of work but like most things can be done ... best chance is to find one from a 89-90 Surf with a 2LT (not a 2LTE), and grab the wiring loom + ECU in the passenger kick panel.

Reason being the 2LT runs a manual fuel pump (same as yours).
Just thinking bout it, think the trans will also want a TPS input which can be sourced from the same doner as the auto.
91' Hilux Surf with the usual mods & a few different ones ....

Not sure what model you have, but there may be something for you here if you have a V6. Says no go for 4 cyl engines though
