GQ winch onto front diff

Guys,

Im aware the ideal way to help my shorty keep its front legs on the ground is with wheelbase extension and possibly little winch on the front diff.....

Unfortunately i havent got the time to sort that before sundays comp and have a quick question....

Im looking to run my 8000 pound low mount in the standard front bar position and run it back to my front diff just to pull it down a couple of inches to keep the weight on the ground for very steep climbs....


has anyone on here done exactly this? run a quick little guide to the front diff with a couple of bars to run over and under to allow the cable to run from vertical above the diff???

Im aware i can just hook it down to the diff as it will pull it too far foward so i need to run it straight back and down...

anyone who has done this with there front diff would be helpful, especially pics.

I bloke I know runs water in the front wheels , (old tractor tech from the farm ) he said it worked , but I imagine it would be harder on CV's and not sure at speed . He was doing winch comps.

It might stiffen the front up causing it to bounce when you hit a bump on the climb which could be worse than just taking it easy on the hill climbs.

I would imagine that there would be a constant hard shock going back through to the winch when the diff tries to drop back down too. Maybe a soft mount could remedy this, but you may also shag your winch gearbox through shock loading.

Not concerned about this. It will only be used in a certain way not constantly. For example to limit the front end from unloading once at the top of the hill by keeping the centre of gravity lower with the winch and release it as soon as up the step. Again this info isn't what im after. It's whether anyone has done anything similar to this on a standard setup gq front end??????
