Welding Front Diff.

Post by Yo_jono »

G'day All.

Yesterday after a day of great four wheel driving I got a flat, had a mate put my spare on Due to a shoulder injury, And off we went.
Heading back into lithgow down chifley Rd, At the top of scenic hill I felt the front left drop, A loud grinding noise, and seen my wheel overtake me.

Disc/hub assembly dug into the bitumen and put a huge gouge in the road about 25 metres long to where I pulled it up in the break down lane.

What has happened, From what I can see the mount to the diff on the passenger side for the Control arms has Broken at the bottom.
Is it a viable option to attempt to weld this back onto the diff, Or just get a whole new diff?

That is providing nothing else is Stuffed, Besides the disc. It's pretty much gone.

Any help/comments Much appreciated.

Cheers
Jono
