GQ radiators

Post by Screwy »

Gday guys,

Couple of questions.....

Are TB42 radiators the same as TD42 radiators?

also is there any difference in cooling ability of radiators with A/C and without or in later models rather then earlier or turbo models rathen then N/A???

cheers

do not buy the brand ADR they are crap repco and most radiator shopss ell them for around the same sorta price you can get a 2 row with the extra support in the corners they are a 2 row and are heaps more efficient than the 3 rows fins per inch on the 3 rows are about 11/12 fpi and on the other brands 2 rows they are about 17/16 fpi i had fit these to many patrols over the years and know as soon as the 12 month warranty is up they will be back within the next 2 years for a new radiator the fins never last they don't have the extra support in the corners and next to no solder holding the tanks on just my input

Not sure if theres a difference with the outlets
But the stocko plastic tanked radiators are rubbish
Just replaced mine with a steel tanked copper cored jobby
As the plastic tank had a split, not 6 months after getting it rodded
Not happy JAN

don't get the cheap alloy ones off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/50mm-aluminum-ra ... 45f3cc9a87" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

me and a mate had that brand. was really good kept motor cool but they kept cracking the cores from the tanks in the same spot. i went though two radiators and so did he. ended up just getting std rad reco'd and temps are sweet. this is both with au thermo fans.

will see how it keeps cool when the turbo goes on

So these full alloy radiators....

How long did that last for you mate before you had issues?

I can buy one of those for as you say the ebay amount, or a second hand one sets me back $200.... its nearly worth it if you got a coupla years out of it?

cheers

I have been running a PWR one since 2005. Not a moments trouble. Just had it out for an engine change and it looks brand new inside
Was a bit pricey, but I didnt want hassles towing when away on trips.
Only drama was the overflow nipple on the side of the filler neck had a pinhole in it - replaced free of charge.

Was a bit fiddly to fit up the fan cowling on the back though.

We sell these rads as well. We are a home based business supplying parts to the trade. We only sell the 2 core 32 mm alloy as the 3 core my suppliers wont bother importing as they are half the weight and basically sh1t. I have sold a few over the last year on here but cant find where I wrote down who they were. If you bought one from me and have been running it please post any positive or negative feedback here. I havent heard any negatives on the ones we sell and most my mates have them in their trucks. Only ever had 1 with a problem in a mates comp truck with a 5.7lt that had the thermos stop and they didnt realise and kept racing. We warrant these rads if purchased through us. If you have bought one from somewhere else did it have a warranty card in the box and if you sent it away the company will/should replace the rad for you. Is basically impossible to tell off the ebay pics which ones are the same as the ones we get. the importers we deal with are quite easy to deal with when it comes to warranty as we buy a heap of parts off them for our business.

I have a $1000 3 core triple bypass aussie desert cooler in mine as it was overheating the minute I towed anything and it made bugger all difference. i just left it there as I now dont tow anything. I bought it about 2-3 weeks before my suppliers bought these into the country otherwise i would have one in my truck.the bus isnt driven anymore other than 10km to the tracks here or I tow the bus to cruiser. hope this kind of helps.

I sell them through outers and patrol4x4 for $300 for the diesel and $325 for the petty plus postage. never really pushed them on here as I am not sure if it is against the rules as we are a business that sell aftermarket/new gen parts.

Mods feel free to delete if true.

after reading my post I had better clarify.......when I said we sell THESE radiators I meant alloy radiators not the cheap E-bay sh1tty ones. The ones we sell are good quality ones and I handle the warranty if needed with the supplier.
