Isn't that the patrols 2.8 diesel?
Why??
Just turbo a toyota 3L engine. Or for LESS work and money you could get the 1kz-te in it, miles better.

Re: RD28T into lux
Then you need mounts, wiring, engineering cert, and all the niggley problems that will come with it.Tsalty wrote:less work AND money?
how much is a 1kz?
a RD28T is around 1000 for the motor and box.then ill just have to buy a transfer.
will be stronger too
ive seen a RD put into a navara and it flew.the hilux is of similar weight
And is the nissan transfer centre rear drivers front pumpkin?
All these things'll add up. Just turbo a 3L, or if you're willing to part with diesel, a 3RZ.
Re: RD28T into lux
There is a reason they are cheap. Lots of them getting ripped out to replace with the 4.2L
Its because they have no low down torque and as such are not wonderful off road or towing engines.
It does have some reasonable high up horsepower, but in all, you are probably better off keeping it Toyota

Re: RD28T into lux
