How about these, this way you dont have to worry about the chance of getting slugged import duty tax and the dollar changing. http://locktup4x4.com.au/hilux-solid-fr ... r-237.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
03 turbo twin cab hilux + 85 xtra cab 253, Have i ever said i love lockers?
buy australian stuff as said, no taxing you dont previously know about. also if your tight on cash why not just get some spare stockos and change them when they break or drive with a bit of caution in mind to try prolong the life of them. if yo do need to replace or purchase stronger ones do not fu c k around with cheap ones etc, get dirty 30's or longfields etc, because they have lifetime warranty, and if they break you net new ones for free yeah they cost some dollars, but you just have to save and then buy them because as the saying states, the poor man pays twice.

na i wouldnt even bother with fitting after market cv's to a lux diff. ive read on 4wd action apparently the only way to build a fully sic comp status hilux is to fit gq diffs.

yeah i see where ya comin from mate, its crossed my mind as well. the thing is my truck is a trailer queen and its built to drive hard then park it in the back yard untill the next trip etc but cant drive it as hard as i want to cause i dont wanna pop the cv's then not be able to drive anythin for the rest of the weekend...... i could have spare stocks but dont wanna be workin on it when i could be drivin it if ya know what i mean. im a mechanic to so get sic of pullin shit apart al the time sometimes lol. not being able to hit things with big numbers with out backing off or steering into shit and havin the power on abit. so i wanna get somethin that will last me for a bit. i will get a set of full set of longs as soon as im qualified
when me pay goes up. just need somethin that will last for a bit. and somethin that my budget allows .

seriously dude, save 100 bucks a week thats 12 weeks, save 200 a week and thats 6 weeks. maybe ask the boss for some overtime, or do some cash jobs on the weekend, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. i have only had 3 saturdays off since christmass plus overtime during the week, but it gets me the money for what i want
dont be a bi;ch about it and do it properly, or you will spend however much now then break them and have to get the longs anyway, if you need to just park it up for a few weeks and dont drive it to save cash, i havent driven my lux since november last year because i am saving and paying for things to get done.
and no you dont need pissan nissan diffs for a comp lux, look at dgr for christ sake, they have lux diffs and no issues, and just ask them and they will tell you straight up that they know how to, can and have built their lux diffs much stronger than nissan diffs.

sorry i was hars, but you need to relyse that what i am paying to get done is some awesome quality barwork by brooksy, and i cannot nor do i have the tools to match the quality or desighn that he can thats why i am paying someone (brooke) to do work on my car, and it has been there soo long because he is busy, also a 1uz, with dual transfers, shortened chassis and wheelbase, custom springs etc all cost dosh. thats why i have been saving.
anyways, why do i care if you waste money on parts you will just replace anyway

hang on how can you say that they will break. do you have any solid info on em, have you ran these on ya own shit? or know someone who has?.
i was asking if anyone had any info on them, god/ bad whatever. ie ( who has these or knows of someone who has and what are they like) theres a reason im lookin into em so thats why i posed the question. im lookin for info where it is benifical, not just what does every one think these will be like, not post up ya rant of ya opinion that is no use to the person looking for proper info.

talk to greg or bb from dgr they will tell you about strength, i was just forwarding information i read in one of their posts in another forum.
patrol is not the strongest diff... dana 60s?
and no i havent broken the lc ones, nor will i spend my money on them. but they will surely not be stronger than longfields and they (longs) can and have been broken, everything can be broken it just gets harder and harder to.

go to here http://www.4wdaction.com.au/forum/sitemap/t-78979.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and read, if you have any questions problems or what ever, please do not get shitty at me, i am simply forwarding information put forward by someone who has competed in his hilux for many years with many top 10 finishes at tuff truck, so i tend not to question his intelligence.

funny how i see someone selling lux diffs and going to GQ
notice i came around and am no longer going down that devilish path. also notice i never claimed that nissan diffs were not strong, all i said is that you do not NEED them for comp hiluxes as lux diffs can be built to be stronger than a stock nissan diff, yes nissan diffs are stronger then a stock lux diff and can work out to be a cheap way to go but not necissarily better 60 series front diff with longfields yeehaa
