Hi where helping a mate change ratio's in his diff and we are un shore on how to set the pinion up correctly as its different to a Toyota. First of all which order do the 2 washers go in and what way dose the taper one go in or out? When we set the new bearings up how do we tension them properly with out shims or a crush sleave do just use the pinion nut to do this and do I need to locktite the nut on so it will not rattle loose?
Thanks Hancock

Re: GQ front pinion setup
may be some help, taper sleeve goes smaller end towards the seal, you tighten it up to specs and check preload, if all good install seal and your good. you may need shims to adjust pinion to crownwheel height(checked with lapping past). you may need shims to correct pinion preload as well(thin shim on top of spacer). the nut should be lock nut but loctite wont hurt
wish list (lockers,lift,endless air,winch,bar,spotties,35s,paint job,turbo,18yrs old hottie

Thanks he brought a rebuilt kit came with the 4 new bearings and no shims or anything like that cost $200 i think that over the top as he still might need more parts thanks Mavzilla.
