i let my sierra sit in garage for 2 months, recharged the battery, went to start it any would barely turn over, lights and all that work fine.
Ok i thought battery must be still flat so i rolled it down the street and roll started it, it worked! then smoke started coming from the front of the engine, quickly drive home with a trail of smoke bellowing out from the engine bay, pull in the garage, its commong from the front belt area. So its either cam shaft, water pump or alternator it looks like. The fan that is there that can usually be turned by hand is too stiff and cant be moved. The smoke smelled of burnt rubber i think.
any ideas, if it helps its a 91wt sierra.

Re: sierra not working after standing for 2 months
Take the drive belt off and check by hand the water pump and the alt. If it was running its not siezed up. Most likely it will be a siezed water pump. if thats the case free it up put the belt back on and see how it goes if it needs to be replaced then replace it.
