100 series whistle
just recently bought a 100 series cruiser. 4.2 diesel, non turbo. it has a whistle coming from the engine. almost like its turbo'd. just wondering what would be causing this. cheers
Re: 100 series whistle
Vacuum line off perhaps? Does it go away with a stab of the throttle?
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.
Re: 100 series whistle
nah mate its more noticeable in the higher revs
Re: 100 series whistle
Could be as simple as a loose intake hose. Check all your hose clamps mate.
Or you picked up a bargain and it really is a turbo whistlin in there![armsup ](./images/smilies/icon_ruff.gif)

thanks, will do. haha nah i wish
Re: 100 series whistle
Hole in your exhaust, the 1hz makes this sound all the time with small pinholes. They are usually in the mufflers but have a look around your manifold and the flex joint just down from it.

ok thanks, will do
Re: 100 series whistle
if the exhaust has been replaced with an aftermarket one. could be worth checking were the pipe bolts to the manifold, there is a nut that you can fit the CO2 emission sensor too, nut could be loose and it would sit right under the cab too making it more evident.
