100 series whistle

just recently bought a 100 series cruiser. 4.2 diesel, non turbo. it has a whistle coming from the engine. almost like its turbo'd. just wondering what would be causing this. cheers

Vacuum line off perhaps? Does it go away with a stab of the throttle?

Could be as simple as a loose intake hose. Check all your hose clamps mate.


Or you picked up a bargain and it really is a turbo whistlin in there :armsup:

Hole in your exhaust, the 1hz makes this sound all the time with small pinholes. They are usually in the mufflers but have a look around your manifold and the flex joint just down from it.

if the exhaust has been replaced with an aftermarket one. could be worth checking were the pipe bolts to the manifold, there is a nut that you can fit the CO2 emission sensor too, nut could be loose and it would sit right under the cab too making it more evident.
