1hdt stops pulling at 3krpm??

Post by Turoa »

Hi there,

I have recently fully rebuilt my motor (after the nut holding the compressor wheel on the turbo came off and sent turbo through my motor) and now it seems to stop pulling at 3k rpm?

I have modified it with the following

t3/t4 turbo with high mount manifold
3" intake manifold inlet
3" straight through zaust
external wastegate set to 15psi
no intercooler yet as have run out of time

It pulls wikked hard up to 3k but then seems to just completely drop off? Ive tried winding the pump up a little more (I was running 12psi on the standard turbo and tuned the pump) and it still used to rev to 4k fairly easily but now it wont. Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

check the fuel pump timing.

Have you adjusted the boost compensator on the injection pump?

what are the specs on the turbo?

Specs are .50 cold and .63 hot. Not adjusted boost compensator yet (because I have to move the pump to get the last bolt out) but its on my to do list. I am begginning to suspect pump timing though

cheers
