I have snaped the drop shaft on the steering gear box.

Is this somewhat easy to rebuild myself?

Recondishoned units are available?

Costing is it easier to just get a 2nd hand one?

Cheers

I assume your talking about the sector shaft in the steering box.

Im most cases when they break they destory the worm nut and sector bearings. - this is not always the case though.

Steering boxes are simple enough but alot of care must be taken in the sequence you pull them down and when puting them back together no pinching seals.

Service exchange units are usually around the 4-$600 mark depending on where u go.

Wreckers will usually sell them for around the 2-$400 mark.

Good luck
