ifs hilux 2inch body lift help!!

hey guys, my mate has just fitted a 2" inch lift to his ifs 97 hilux and also fitted a set of 33s. he scrubs out on the road already and is looking to fit a 2" body lift. is it possible to do and if so how hard is it?

Yes it is possible, and no its not hard to do.

There would be a million threads on this forum covering this very topic, so do a search on it and have a read through.
Basically, get the body lift blocks, make sure you use hi-tensile bolts and nyloc nuts.
Plan to spend a few hours doing it, especially if youve never done it before.
Get a longer fuel filler hose too, as you will most likely need it.
Once youre ready to start, go around and undo all the nuts on the cab mount bolts, do not romove any yet. Also undo the joints in the steering shaft, dont pull them apart, just loosen them.
Start at the front, get a jack and some blocks of timber, pull out the 2 bolts from the front mounts, jack up roughly 2inches, put the lift block in place, pus the bolt through, and lower.
Go to the rear of the cab, do the same there, then do the mounts in between.
As you go, keep checking the hard lines from the clutch and brake booster, and carefully bend them to get the required length, and keep an eye on all other hoses to make sure thay are good.
Once all the bolts, blocks and nuts are on and tight, check to make sure your doors open and close smoothly, if they do, then good. If they dont, check all blocks and bolts are in properly.
Then check all hoses and hard lines again. Put in the longer fuel filler hose. Tighten the steering shaft up again.
Then, you will most likely need to trim a bit out of the trans tunnel, around the gearsticks, check to make sure that you can easily and smoothly get into every gear, and Hi-Lo range. trim where necessary.
Check that the fan shroud doesnt foul on the fan. Check and double check everything.
Once you are sure that its all done and good, start up and listen for any sounds or noises that shouldnt be there.
If its all good, then you should be done.
Stand back, have a beer, and tell yourselves how good you are for finishing the job.
The important thing is to use the correct parts, the correct bolts, and to go slowly and check/double check everything as you go.

But please, do a search before you start as I have told you what I can remeber from doing it myself almost 2 years ago, and I might have forgotten something.
