MQ 4 speed bits iinto a 5 speed??

Post by Rockmonsta »

Hey guys,

Here's the situation, i have a good 4speed box with 170k kms on it, and a 5 speed with nearly 400k kms, the 5 speed 2nd syncro is worn, hard to get in when down shifting.
Can I take the majority of the 4 speed bits and use the fith gear extension housing to make a good 5 speed? Would imagine I'd have to use the 5 speed housing and swap everything over??

Cheers.

Not sure,

Though i can tell you that the gears are different 1-4 in the 4 speed compaired to the 5 speed....

You may be able to simply bolt the 5th gear extension housing onto the back of your 4 speed box but im not sure....

The internals of the 2 are similar but different ratios.
