Ok so I have the turbo installed using on of matt mcguinness' adaptors. (which is an awesome bit of kit!)
oil lines-sorted
air in/out-sorted
water lines.. well:
looking from the front of the engine, on the firewall there are the 2 hoses going to the heater core. I figured that one side must be pressure, the other return. So I put a t-piece in each and ran hose to the turbo. I am not sure i was right in assuming this, because at idle (on a cool engine) there was no water pressure from either hose. If i give it a quick rev, i get reasonable pressure from the right hand hose, and it appears a small amount of pressure from the left. (could be system pressure?).
Have i made a dogs breakfast of this?
please help!
the more i think about it the more wrong i think i am..

Not being very familiar with the hose layout of a 1HZ I can't be specific. Many heater hose systems take the hot side hose (inlet to heater core) from somewhere on the head or near the thermostat, and the return hose from heater core connects near the inlet of the water pump.
BTW, Garrett recommend tilting the turbo so the water outlet is a little higher than the inlet (from memory about 15*).
