NH Paj gearbox is dead, What to do 'bout it.

So my 5spd manual has died and I'm looking for opinions on the best way to repair/replace/wreck. Paj is an 92 NH with a 6g72.

I have called a few wreckers and almost no one has any boxes to replace this one. I got one price of $1250 which is a LOT for an un-reco'd unit.

Questions:
1. Would it be possible to pop an AUTO box in without too much hassle?

2. Should I just sell/wreck the car and start from scratch?

3. Does anyone in the Brisbane area have a box to sell me?

4. What would it roughly cost to rebuild it? My brother says the bearings in gears 1,2,3 & 5 are shot.


Any help would be really appreciated.

I've been thinking about getting mine reco'ed before it dies and without looking too hard I came across these guys

If I you're happy with the car and the rest of it is in good order then search around for a reco. Personally I would love to have a crack at doing it myself but I don't have someone to help me through it. Is your bro able to help you?

Hey mate i have a 5 speed box here, i am doing an engine conversion so its no longer required.

It has 210000 on it, and no problems with it at all. pm if youre interested, im on the sunny coast.
