I'll try to make this as short as possible while still making some sense.
I have a 1999 Grand Vitara 2.5L Automatic with a complete Calmini Kit. I have broken the left inner side CV joint. As I understand it this is the least likely of the two to break? I've purchased a complete CV axle assembly. When putting it on it is too short but it is the same as the old one. It is 2.5cm too short at its most extended position, so at its mid-range it would be ~6cm too short.
Before this happened I broke the front diff and replaced it with a complete second hand one (cast alloy).
So what I need to find out is, (1) the length of the diff from end to end(left side flange to the point where the outer race of the right inner CV inserts to the diff) ? and (2) the position of the diff with reference to a measure from wheel hub to diff (the point where the outer race of the out side CV seals against the wheel hub)?
I measure (1) 52cm from end to end
(2) left side 45cm and right side 40cm
Or if anyone knows about this problem?
Thanks for the help!!
