You'll be out racing Mosko... there's no option there!
I heard your Lowmead team are going to be using this as warm up preparation??!!

Numbers are not capped for racing as we believe we can accommodate as many racers that can turn up!

We want to make sure that this sort of racing is accessible for the masses.
Get a cage in your 4B and come and have some serious fun in front of a cheering crowd!!!
For a minimal amount of outlay!

Come enjoy the good times!

How is the format planned out?
Similar to WTC250, or just single laps like Coopers?

The format will be similar to what's used for Tarmac Sprints.
However we are obviously switching it up to suit dirt!!

There will be a number of tracks, created using combinations of one main loop.
Each vehicle will run the track two times.
There will be a number of tracks each round.
Each lap will be timed, which will lead to a total time = class & overall place getters!

We are particularly focused on making this a fun event where everyone just gets out and enjoys racing their mates!
Vehicle damage will be very limited for those that drive within their abilities!
And I have no doubt that this will help develope young drivers in our sport!

You gonna run your 80 Bear? You won't need any gear you don't already have and we'll try our hardest to keep a big grin on your face whilst you sting that V8!!
Along with Freestyle Moto, dedicated commentry team and entertainment it should be fun!

And Mosko our plan is to Have everyone camping @ Yamba Pub.
These details are being finalized this week.

But they have campsites and ammenities, and we are working with them to have presentations in a function room there.
This would mean that once finished the event, everyone could move to the one location to party the night away!

I'm pretty excited!

Sounds like fun Digsy. Not sure at this stage if we are going to be able to make it, but we will do our best.
Is this going to be a single event each year, or are you planning on running more of them?
Are cages needed?

Hey guys!

Just to answer a few of the questions...

Cars will not require Rego. Our insurance covers unregistered vehicles.
Cars like Billy's will indeed be catered for in a seperate CAMS class. This will be well advertised on relevant sites so that we can judge interest.
But I have no doubt that Billy will be there in his Trophy Truck!
At this point it is a exhibition class, but if we get more numbers it will become a bonified class competing for cash!
However they will not be competing against all for the series outright win.

Bear -
This will not be a single event.
It will be run as a 4 round series next year and there will be big prizes for the outright winners of each class and a prize for fastest outright of the series! Although this sounds like it will be dominated by the big V8s many offroad races each year prove that Standard and Diesel Class can mix it with the big boys when it comes to pace and ability, often taking the outright honours!

Cages are most definately required, along with window nets and harnesses. If a navigator is to be in the vehicle then they will require the same protection. We also have a clothing requirement to minimize the impact of fluids and flames on the body in the event of an incident. All of these requirements will be available from a dedicated website which will hopefully be up and running in the next week or so.

We have a heap of really excited competitors, including a couple of ladies that are going to enter!
We have also had some interest from Mackay, Biloela, Moura, Gladstone and around the regions!
Hopefully we can attract a few more CAMS cars for the entertainment side of things!
I'm sure Billy will be keen to do a few jumps for the crowd too!

Nope you aren't blind - it's not up here yet -
it's being held at ProjectFMX Millman Rd.
It's just north of Rockhampton on the Bruce Hwy.
Hope this clears it up.

I'm hoping to have DirtsprintZ website up and running next week and it will have a lot more specific event info.

At this point we just wanted to let everyone know when and what is happening!
Gonna be fun!

The crew from ProjectFMX have been hard at it today working on sculpting the race course!
They have set all the "jumps" as smooth ski jumps so that vehicle impacts are minimal if driven well... However if your a loose cannon no doubt the cheering crowds will help you reach yours and your vehicles talent ability!

Again - we are working on a DirtsprintZ website now which should be cranking out by this weekend.
It will be updated regularly to keep everyone informed and up to date.

This is shaping up to be a really enjoyable event! I reckon there'll be a few more fast 4Bs built around town when they see the goofy grins on competitors faces after blasting a corner to a cheering crowd!
Bring on DirtsprintZ!!!

Here's a photo of Billy Geddes in his Trophy Truck cutting a lap on one of the DirtsprintZ tracks. This jump is actually just a nice light roll over until you hit it wide in a Trophy Truck!

Billy will be racing around in the Exhibition Class!
So despite the fact that he's not competing for a win... he'll sure be putting on a show for the crowd!

Sure sounds like you guys are on a winner with this one!

I just wish it was closer to Brizzy.
6.5hrs it a bit to far to go racing for a weekend.
Well its more the thought of the trip that back that bothers me.

Good luck with it hope all goes well!

Cant wait to see some pics and youtube footage!

Gez Guts, how soft are you southers. Before this year, anyone from this area and north had to travel that, and more to compete. I think you all get it to good down there, haha.

But seriously, if anyone from down south wants to get involved in some real competition, head north and mix it up with the CQ, NQ & FNQ guys.

As we speak to boys from Project Cartel Dirtsprintz are putting the final touches onto the track by smoothing out some loader work and building some good sized berms for cars to rail corners like The GOAT!! Billy 'go' geddes has come on board and straight away kicking goal by getting a grader on site to make this happen... Only thing I'm a little nervous about is dan has my jeep there now so hopefully he doesn't treat it like the other 'on site' Zj....

Well BG (wilba) has been at it all week grooming and massaging a track fit for CQ's Dirtsports KINGS!

It's a fast flowing section in places and here is one of the top corners from which you can see this corner and a few other great corners that weave through the bush. It's going to be great for spectators and drivers alike coming through these sweeping corners learning just how quick they can push their rigs!

Gonna be fun!

Here's Billy taking the work ute for a strap on the top (fastest) corner! He reckons you should just be clicking 4th down the back staight before setting for the corner!

Yeeeeeewwwwwwww

Will my exo count as a cage? Have all the other stuff but i have an external rear roll hoop and stays that meet specs but the rest is a normal TT style exo. Still made of appropriate spec seamless tube.
