is 3" boby lift to much ????
Well still working on the ex PTROOL ( now TUFF 88 ) and was looking at the body lift . It has 4" suspention lift and 3" body lift . From your experience guys , is that a little over kill ? top heavy ? I have 35" on it now with heaps of clearence and was thinking of maby taking the body lift down to maby 1 1/2 " or 2 " . At the most i will only fit 36' tyres .
My thought was that dropping it down a inch would make it a easier ride on redicoulos angles .

I'm no expert, but I've always thought you'd only put in as much body lift as you need. If you don't need the guard clearance, then you could bring it back down.
Two more things. At least with a body lift you're keeping the centre of gravity a little lower. A suspension lift will also lift the body, along with the chassis, which raises the centre of gravity without gaining clearance under the diffs. So:
Do you need the ramp-over angle on the chassis rails?
Is the suspension work getting you extra articulation (I suspect it is...)
If the answer to both of those questions is "No" then sell your lifted coils and keep the body lift.
Just one man's opinion...

i had 3 inches on my old bundy - so i could fit exhausts for my 350 chevy in the gap - no other option - had 35's too. it was top heavy and that was the main reason i sold it. got a gq now.
don't body lift for tyre clearence - cut ya guards, better allround, you cant justify lifting significant mass of you vehicle just for tyre clearence. replacement guards cost the same as body lifts in most cases anyway

you dont need 3inch dude, 2 is plenty, and will make it feel better offroad.
2inch sus you should fit Q78 Swamper's with body trim, and 2inch body...

If ya worried about stability i doubt that going from a 3" body lift to a 2" body lift is gonna make f all of difference. Remember its only the body and not the whole chassis, motor,gearbox etc...
it seems a lot of effort for minimal difference especially seeing as it means changing any mounts on bar work again.
if stability is the concern i reckon drop a lower set of coils in it, it would make more difference and be easier, or if you really are worried bout the body lift why not take it out completely and chop the guards out.

just do wat works out better with how much 4x4ing u do
if u do alot go bigger but if u drive it along highways u'll have a screwed up centre of gravity and could roll it easily.

i had a GQ set up similar to yours (without the nice v8, sadly) and one of the best things i ever did was taking the body lift back out of it. the bodies are a lot heavier than you would think, and it does make a massive difference, they also look much better, and neater, without them. just be prepared, there is a lot more work involved in taking them out than there is putting them in..
