ok i am putting a td42 in my tb42 wagon. i have got a engine (silver top) and most of the bits but the bottom end needs to be rebuilt could anybody put me on to a good diesel mechanic preferably in vic. i am going to be runing about 18lbs of boost what other things would be worth doing while it is apart?

i have same motor.. mine is due to come back very soon.. i had 30psi running through mine for a long time. i plan on round australia trip soon so need my car to be reliable. i got full rebuild plus HPC coated pistons, inlet plenum, bigger valve springs, 100% balanced. all for $6.7.

Guessing thats supposed to be $6700. If so that seems pretty resonable to drop engine of and pick up a rebuilt one.

ok am probaly get someone to rebuild the whole thing. i am looking at Warby engines in cranburn has anyone used him or heard anything about his work. seems like a good guy.

I am rebuiling two long motors (silver top out of GQ's) atm. All machining is being done by Queensland Engineering Service and assembled by Whites Diesels. If yor not in too much of a hurry, I will sell one and take one myself. PM me if your interested.

John is great, knows his shit and does it well. We use warby for all our machine work. He did all the machine work for the 2 SD33T's i built a while ago, and has just done the machine work on my mazda truck engine. He could get me engine kits cheaper than i could from engines australia.
