Best tyres for HJ60 Landcruiser?

Post by chris rouge »

I am just about at the point of replacing the BFG A/T's on my HJ60 Landcruiser. The poor old things are a bit past it!
Before I simply go and get another set of 235/75/R15's, has anyone any suggestions for possible alternatives for good all round use in desert and on road??
What is the largest tyre I can cram under the wheel arches without causing problems when the suspension is flexing?

Thanks... Chris

how far from the guards are your tyres when flexing at the moment?

im guessing you do alot of travelling, so wear would be a big factor for you? mongrels are out of the question then.

roothy seems to love the mickey thompson A/Ts on his 45.

procomps have a pretty high km rating.

how do you find the BF's?

Try 31x10.5's cos if you've got 15x7 rims thats about as big as you can legally go on that size rim. That will give you a gain of about two inches in diameter and will fit very easily under a standard 60's guards with out rubbing.
Anything more than that and you'll have you find some 15x8's
