Could I have installed starter incorrectly?

Post by bigpaj »

Hi Guys,

I installed a new starter this weekend and it now seems to make a grinding noise while running at times.

After the car is started it makes this continous clunk clunk cluck sound ( like a grind noise maybe).

Could I have installed it badly? Don't they just fit in one way?

I didn't put the dust shield back on, but I son't think that should matter.

Cheers.

is it a new starter because it sounds like it is stuck on you could have wired it wrong but it could be your ignition switch sticking i would replace that if thats the prob.
