what to look for

i'm looking for a dual cab lux, 4 runner or surf. what should i be looking at before i buy one? any hidden problems like in a sierra a sloppy tcase stick means its going to jam on you soon.

hey mate preety much look for all the obvious signs of mistreatment like underbody rusting, leaking seals, steering noises when turning the wheel, check the tcase stick if its sloppy good chance it will lock or there is something wrong goin on with the transfer case, make sure all gauges are working no fuel leaks check the belts on the engine for severe wear make sure the fan has been hit by anything and preety much give it a good once over

I know the early Luxes are prone to rust, check pretty much the whole body over for any, floors, firewall, along the roof gutters.
Check to see if the swivel hubs are leaking, a fairly easy job to fix, but a messy one.
Depending on engine, check things like belt condition, any oil leaks, etc.
Also check to see how solid the seat rails are, I know mines not the best.

The later model Luxes arent as bad as the early ones.
