I have 2002 mitsubishi chalanger. the gear box has just been rebuilt, 6 weeks ago, and now the four wheel drive on the dash board flashes constantly,and will not go out.
i have tried shifting into 4wheel low, and 4wheel high drive, then back into 2 wheel drive but the light still flashes
any ideas will be greatfully recieved

Ok Guy,
Get yourself under it and check out the linkages and vacuum pipes, for the front wheel drive, the arm is proberly stuck with rust and crap and needs manually working in and out and lightly greaseing, see whats behind the rubber covers

Whoever rebuilt the gearbox probably didn't reconnect the electrics to the vacuum servos for the 4WD. Take it back to the repairer and egt them to check it out.

It's more likely that the super-select switches on the transfer case were either not connected, or re-connected incorrectly, so the module driving the lights can't make sense of the signals.
You need to find a wiring diagram showing which wires connect where, then crawl underneath and confirm they're all connected correctly.
