Turning up idle speed
Turning up idle speed
hi guys i have a nissan Terrano 11. Just wondering how do i turn up the idleing. At the moment the motor idles at around 650 to 700 rpm and feels like its gonna vibrate its self to peices,if i hold my foot on the throttle and bring the revs up to around 800 and its fine.Ive had a bit off a look but cant find any adjuster.
Re: Turning up idle speed
You probly wont find a adjuster, the base idle will most likley be adjusted by the ECU or with the idle air bypass screw on the Throttle Body.
It does sound a little low, but you should first check what RPM the factory idle "should" be ,just in case it is still within the factory guidlines , your vibration could also be caused by somthing else (e.g. bad engine mount etc)
Maybe check with your mechanic if you are not sure ?
