FJ73 MWB WHEELBASE STRETCH

Post by GU42PATROL »

Hi all,

I'm looking to stretch the wheelbase of my FJ73 MWB cruiser and was wondering the maximum length the front diff can be pushed out before having front shaft or steering issues...

And if anyone knows how far the rear ca go out that would be great as well. I am planning on using a tailshaft spacer in the rear??

What I want to do is drill the spring perch or flip the springs...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers, Ian

My rear is back ~15mm from standard, no issues and no tailshaft spacer. My front is ~35-40mm forward, with large offset rims on turning my 35'' tyres hit the front body mounts.

Thanks mate.
The current plan is to throw a 60 series housing in the rear, and some ifs hub spacers in the front...
Than maybe a set of 35's

Thanks for the info.

Its a good setup that is not to difficult to install. Done a 60 series front diff into a middy too and that is alot of work. More room for big rubber in the rear.
