Hi all, a mate of mine is wondering if he can do a gearbox conversion from his 4 spd box to a 60 series 2F 5spd box?
If yes, what's involved and does it need to be engineered approved?
Let me know your thought or been done.
cheers

Amoung things to be changed is the gearbox input shaft. Needs to shorten/extend the driveshafts, crossmember work, probably something in the tunnel. Maybe even a change in handbrake setup too.

depends on year of BJ40
if you have 100mm between rear transfer flange and crossmember it can be done
if you have the late model bj with split case hand brake is not an issue
tunnel is no biggy its just a trim of the holes
the only problem is the input shaft is diffrent from petrol to desial
no engineer if you dont move crossmembers ( late model )
