What size 'z0r5t for 2.8 TD Rocky?

Post by tehekho »

Hey guys - time for another question from me :D

Midway through re-installing the gearbox into the rocky, I cut the muffler off to aid access. This wasn't a problem as I intended on getting a new, larger exhaust anyway.

It looks like the factory exhaust is a 2" jobbie - would I see any benefit from going up to a 2.5" or 3" exhaust? I don't think noise is a concern as the turbocharger does a fairly nice job of silencing it anyway - and its not overly loud as is with an exhaust system about 50cm long. I have no intention of running a muffler if I can avoid it - to reduce backpressure as much as possible (And perhaps for a little wank factor also...)

What size is the outlet on the dump pipe? Because I don't see a point in running a system any smaller than that anyway, and can it be made to be larger easily?
