100 series instrument problems

Post by JayDee »

Hi guys, I have a HZJ105R standard 100 series cruiser, no turbo, sometimes my tacho works and sometimes it does'nt. Also sometimes the fuel and alternator guages take 10 seconds on come on. Sometimes I can open the drivers door, flick the interior light switch on the pillar with my finger and watch all the guage needles flick up and down all over the place. Very strange. Toyota don't have an answer. Any ideas ??? any help would be much appreciated before I spend a fortune for Toyota to look at it. Thanks JayDee.

it sounds like you have a poor earth connection somewhere. could be on the instrument cluster or alternator, battery etc. good luck finding it, they can be intermittent and a PITA to locate
