Eaton E locker, whos using and abusing these things????
I have blown my ARB in the front of my 80 to bitz and its looking as tho it may just be a smarter option to get a new locker all together.
So its either back to the ARB or try one of the Eaton Elockers. But I can only find mostly Jeep people that run them with mixed reviews. Seems like the 2 pinion models are weak?
So are the ones to suit the 80 series front 4 pinion? I would guess that they are?
cheers

Hey mate. I think from what I've read which wasnt all that much was that they only make them for the rear diff and not the front in the 80's.

Re: Eaton E locker, whos using and abusing these things????
I have been running one in the front of my zook buggy with 60 series diffs for over 12 months and have never had a problem even after a couple of rock comps. I am running 38 inch swampers at 4psi, full hydro steering and 30 spline chromos and regularly leave it engaged while reversing back up rocks.I like the fact that you don't need a compressor or air lines and as long as it has power it works and a broken wire is easier to fix or replace than an airline.
Re: Eaton E locker, whos using and abusing these things????
Yeah like I said I only had a quick look at them
I had a look on this website:
http://www.oppositelock.com.au/index.ph ... ectionID=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
See how it says :
Electro-Magnetic Differential Locker to suit the following applications:
* Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series (Rear)
That's why I thought they only had them available for the Rear..
I like the look of them as well. The handy thing about the airlockers is that you have that compressor there to pump your tires up as well.
What's the difference in price between them?

what about the factory ones? would those be easy to break too? your ls1 will probably break anything anyway lol seems like a whole different diff setup is now needed hehe.

Hi mate
The 2 pinion ones are only for the American market where they are factory options in chryslers and a few others.I have them in my GU comp truck and also in my land cruiser 76 series. Use them in anger many times and can only offer positive feedback. Gave them a good workout on our cape York trip and also the comp truck does not get treated kindly. So far no issues and very happy. Only things is the GU had to have the axles cut down 3mm, I would assumetheyusethe same locker for ga and GU, which is a real shit when you break an axle.

Just love electric lockers.... had nothing but problems with air systems and electric is just so much "cleaner".
No air leaks, or O ring issues..... just press the button and watch the light blink then lock.

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
