Ok after reading the Ateco thread I thought I`d start a thread here on the new rules for 6 point cages etc.
My question is what is the go with a ute like my lux? If its only a single cab how the fark can you point a 6 point cage in it because the way I understand the rules on cages is that you are not allowed to have part of it to be cab mounted and part of it frame mounted.
I am having a 4 point cage put in my lux before it is going again complete with seats mounted to it, cross bracces etc, then I also have a 4 point on the tray complete with diagonals but these 2 cages are indepent of each other. Would this cover all classes of rules? It will be built to XRCC outlaw specs as from what I can gather is these are the tuffest.
Also putting 4 point harnesses and window nets in it.

CCDA and rollcage rules.

Will be waiting to see if you can get an official response as the 4b I normally co-drive in, a 75 series tray, has a 4 point roll cage in the cab made to CAMS specs. and the only way to make it into a 6 point that I can see is to bring it out through the top rear of the cab and down to the chassis.
Hopefully 2 independant 4 point cages as you described will be exceptable as it will be farking annoying to do it the way i described

In my opinion and that is all , i belive the best way to do a 6 point on a single cab to cams standards is the 4 points in rear to chassie . And then through cab and through front of floor to have all 6 points chassie mounted this would require 4 rubber boots to allow movement where it pass's through . Also as i said b4 in my opinion you carn't get the room with a b pillar bar to head if inside cab for it to b street legal . and if you do it as above it will be road and cams legal if built to there ruels . Further to this if you don't put seat or seat belt mounts off it you don't need an engineers certificate for it ( this is as I interpret Vic road ruels )I only need a enginereers certificate for mine as the seat belt mounts are supported off it .

If you can not get there in a 4wd its not worth looking at
If you look up www.vicroads.vic.gov.au this might help but i looked at it again last night and it clearly states the bar at the 'B' pillar area is to be behind the rear most part of the head rest with the seat in the rear most position and in a single cab hilux this is not possible
