Ring wizard performance in brisbane they use large hiem joints or you can buy them from cbc bearing supplys or dobbin engineering in nsw they make there own
In ruff green lux he used a landrover set up which you can get from the wreckers if you wanted to do it all on the cheap

Some of the large Truck tie rod ends are a better choice than Rod ends and johnny joints.
Whatever joint you go for they must have the bolt fitting verticaly not horizontally.
If the bolt is fitted on the horizontal plane if you have a hard sideways impact you will bust the joint.

and if you're worried about durability or strength there's plenty of semi's that use a similar top ball joint system like rovers do. They're heee-uge but probably cheap from wreckers.

Just a thought

WOW X2 that is sooo basic but looks like it would be the goods. I have to say that is very out side the square thinking. All it needs is a grease fitting.

Honestly I had to look at the pictures for a few seconds to understand exactly how it works but WOW very cool.

Not the ball joint part but the axle locating part of that design is very similar to the trac bar setup I had been considering for my lux lately. It looks pretty trick but the top of it needs to be able to swivel forward and backwards to prevent binding when the a frame drags the axle forward with down travel. Other than looks does it gave any benefits over a simple twin triangulated 4link. Seems to work for opw

If running a heim definately but what if running rebuildable J.Joint.
Seems to be a common debate on Pirate about the bolt placement. I personally wouldn't use a heim but a rebuildable joint & the chances of dislodging them are significantly less than a heim. Thought the binding angle was increased with a vertical bolt too.
