Hilux solid axle widening with IFS hubs and calipers?

Post by 010shane »

Hi,

I'm putting a 5L in my Ln106 and have a few questions I haven't been able to find the answer to on here. So I thought I'd ask them in different threads. I got a whole LN167 2000 hilux which had been rolled. It was a mates and he had just spent a fortune getting all the brakes and what not done before he rolled it. Basically my calipers in the front are stuffed and I was hoping to use his. I dont think they fit on to my hubs, but was looking at fitting his hubs for the wider track. Would I get the extra wheel track if i fitted his hubs and rotors? Would there be anything stopping me doing this even if the track isn't increased. I haven't figured out how the spacers available from locktup work yet, but if I did get them would I be able to use the LN167 rotors? I'm a at uni at the moment, so i'm a complete tight ass and can't afford to spend much more on the car, and haven't dropped the hubs to compare because I can't afford to have it off the road (if you're wondering why I don't just get my brakes done).

Cheers, Shane.
